Yesterday, the news of cricketer MS Dhoni’s retirement from International cricket left the nation shocked. The CSK star took to his social media to announce his retirement from international cricket after which, many former and current cricketers such as Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and many others, as well as millions of Dhoni’s fans saluted the former captain, lauding his contribution to Indian cricket. Now, Dhoni’s wife Sakshi penned an emotional tribute, and wrote how proud she is of his accomplishments and of the person that he is.
In her social media post, Sakshi Dhoni shared a picture of the cricketer, with his back facing the camera, as he gazed at a beautiful sunset. In her caption, she congratulated MS Dhoni on giving his best to the game, and mentioned that it must not have been easy for him to say goodbye to a sport that was his passion right from the beginning. She wrote, “You should be proud of what you have achieved. Congratulations on giving your best to the game. I am proud of your accomplishments and the person you are! I am sure you must have held those tears to say goodbye to your passion. Wishing you health, happiness and wonderful things ahead.”
Sakshi Dhoni further shared a quote by Maya Angelou, which read, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar, in his post lauding MS Dhoni for his contribution, wrote, “Your contribution to Indian cricket has been immense, @msdhoni. Winning the 2011 World Cup together has been the best moment of my life. Wishing you and your family all the very best for your 2nd innings.”
